The July Realmscapes Newsletter Is Up, and This Month It’s a Zine

A smiling woman holds up a printed copy of the Realmscapes Dispatch zine, titled “Small Experiments, Larger Efforts,” featuring a pale watercolor flower on the cover.

The July Realmscapes newsletter is up on Substack, and this month I tried something a little different: I made it as a downloadable zine.

Instead of a normal email-style update, this issue is laid out more like a small visual dispatch: part creative log, part studio note, part “here are the scraps and sparks currently rattling around in the drawer.” It’s still a newsletter, technically, but with more paper-and-staple energy. A field dispatch from the Realmscapes outpost.

Inside, I’m sharing a look at what I’ve been working on lately, including art practice, writing progress, and the usual assortment of creative weirdness that seems to accumulate when one is left unsupervised near notebooks.

You can read it on Substack here:

Realmscapes: Words with Drawings

And since it’s a zine-style issue, you can also download it as a PDF if you’d like to read it that way.

This may become a regular monthly format, or it may evolve as I figure out what works best. For now, I like the idea of making something that feels a little more tangible, even when it’s digital. A small record. A creative breadcrumb. Evidence that something happened.
