Jack Moore, Looking Glass Maker

Colorful ink-and-watercolor illustration of the Jack Moore Looking Glass Maker building in Jonesborough, with a large red-and-green sign, brick sidewalks, and a boy sitting beside a cat in the alley below.

Medium: Pen, Ink and Watercolor
Size: 7 by 10 inches
Notes: From my own reference photo

I really liked the perspective in this work, but the sign is what drew my attention. A looking glass maker…who still makes looking glass. Or does he?

It’s a story, but even more interesting is the Eureka Inn, which offers a Southern Breakfast. So what’s on the menu?

The little boy on the suitcase and a cat brings another story to the picture. Why is he sitting there? What are they looking at?

Jonesborough is full of little story sparks, and these are only a few of them.

I wrote a blog post about this artwork that you can read here.
